OUR STORY

A lantern in the middle of a family's more complicated season

Amity was built around one idea: that families facing change deserve a calm, plainly spoken companion — not a lecture, not a form to sign, just a clear light on the path ahead.

WHO WE ARE

How Amity came to be

Amity opened its doors in Phuket Old Town in 2019. The idea came from a simple observation: many households in Thailand and among the expatriate community reach important turning points — a change in family structure, a household transition, a time when documents need ordering and conversations need starting — without a plain, accessible place to begin.

We are not lawyers, counsellors, or financial planners. We are trained facilitators and organizers who believe that thoughtful preparation and open communication can make a household's difficult season considerably less overwhelming.

Our name comes from the oldest sense of the word: a warm regard between people who may not share blood but who choose to move through difficulty together with care.

OUR MISSION

What guides every session

Amity exists to give households a steady, informed starting point. We translate the general landscape of family transitions into plain checklists, conversation frameworks, and written summaries that ordinary people — not only specialists — can understand and act on.

Patience

We never set a clock on a family's readiness. Each session moves at the pace the household sets.

Honesty about our limits

When a topic calls for a lawyer, a financial advisor, or a social worker, we say so clearly and help you find the right path.

Inclusivity

Families come in many forms. Our sessions are designed for any household structure — we do not presume or judge.

HOW WE WORK

Our standards of practice

Session Confidentiality

What families share with us is held privately. We keep no records beyond what you explicitly agree to in writing before your session.

Scope Clarity

At the start of every engagement, we explain clearly what we can and cannot do. Participants know from the first minute that we provide information and organisation, never formal advice.

Ongoing Material Review

Our checklists and guides are reviewed twice a year against current Thai regulatory sources, so the information families receive stays accurate and relevant.

Professional Referral Network

We maintain a current list of registered legal, financial, and social support professionals across Phuket so we can signpost families to the right help quickly.

Accessible Language

All printed materials are written to a plain-language standard and reviewed for clarity before distribution. Jargon is removed or, where unavoidable, explained simply.

Participant Comfort First

Families can pause, reschedule, or change the scope of any session without penalty. We tailor the pace and focus to what feels right for the people in the room.

Family communication support in Phuket, thoughtfully delivered

Phuket sits at an interesting crossing point: Thai families, long-established expatriate households, and newly settled international residents all face the same quiet pressures when life shifts — a parent's health changes, a household splits, an estate needs attention, or adult children need to understand what their parents have put in place. These are not unusual situations. They are ordinary transitions, but they often land without warning and without a clear map.

Amity works with any family that wants a steadier start. Our facilitated sessions are not tied to any particular outcome. We do not hold an interest in what decisions families make. We simply create a structured, unhurried space for key topics to be aired, documents to be located and labeled, and shared arrangements to be written down in plain terms.

Our Phuket office is open to walk-in enquiries, and all sessions can be arranged in advance by phone or email. Families are welcome to bring one member or the whole household. We meet people where they are.
